Interior Wall Ideas: #3 Pressed Tin

If you're an Offspring fan like me no doubt you would have noticed the gorgeous pressed tin walls in Nina's first apartment? aren't they stunning! I love that romantic elegance of them.

Pressed tin is easily sourced, you can get it from restoration and building suppliers in your local area.

It is made from aluminium which is light weight and flexible, and is corrosion resistant which allows the panels to be used in any external application as well as internal.

I just love how they create such an opulent, stunning elegant feature wall! I'd love to be able to do this in my house.

Here are some other beautiful examples of how you can use pressed tin in your home.

What do you think of pressed tin? I'm in love with the black and white ones, very luxurious indeed!

Interior Wall Ideas: #2 Plywood

Part two of my Interior Wall design ideas series: Plywood

Plywood is a relatively easy and inexpensive interior wall cladding option which can feel quite inviting and cosy, and also bring nature inside with the exposed wood grains.

Personally I don't mind a splash of plywood here and there, it adds warmth and texture to the space.  However if its used on all walls and ceilings I do think it can be a bit too much.

These photos are from a design by Dutch interiors studio i29 , and built by Dutch firm Paul de Ruiter Architects who has used plywood features inside this house in North Holland

A few other examples of how plywood can be used really well

Interior Wall Ideas: #1 Concrete Walls

I got my May/June edition of Inside Out Magazine recently and in it there was an advertisement for some new concrete wall panels that looked great! They had that modern architectural look with the very popular raw industrial element.

According to their website its a pre-finished, lightweight, east to install panel from Royal Oak Floors.

I do think that sometimes concrete interior walls can feel cold but this one feels a lot warmer and  more inviting than others I've seen...
As long as the concrete look is mixed with some warmth or texture it can work really well

And you wont believe it but this is actually concrete wallpaper by ConcreteWall

Do you like concrete for interior walls?

So it got me thinking about different walling options rather than the regular painted plasterboard or wallpaper... what else you can do to your home to give your walls some excitement, an element of flair, giving it depth, or colour, or a tactile focus pleasing to the eye...

Over the next few posts I'm going to explore some other interior wall options, let me know what you think and which you like best in the comments below.
