The Block Glasshouse - Living and Dining rooms

Living and Dining rooms were revealed on The Block Glasshouse this week, there were some really nice designs and fit outs, however the judges feel that some contestants did not produce rooms that matched up to the rest of their apartments due to low budgets.  I thought they were a bit harsh in these comments because even the rooms the judges disliked I still found really nice!

We'll start with my favourite room this week, Max & Carsten.  They presented an area that looked very stylish and sophisticated, in the past their rooms have had a bit of a cold feel to them with their polished concrete floors, and lots of black and white in their fit out choices, but this week they brought more texture which softened the room, they did a really nice job and it looked like such a nice place to relax in!

The winners this week were Michael & Carlene who presented a very warm living and dining area, beautiful exposed brickwork and mammoth bookshelf with recessed TV.

Shannon & Simon's Living & Dining space didn't get rave reviews from the judges this week, they didn't like the chair in the space under the staircase, and some weren't fans of the ply one-off artwork.  They did love the Brent Rosenberg portrait above the buffet, and I love it too.  Just beautiful! What do you think of their room?

Dee and Darren continued with their sophisticated modern provincial design with the French oak herringbone parquetry flooring throughout their Living and Dining areas.  Their standout piece was definitely the David Bromley artwork which was a winner with the judges, who also loved the styling they presented this week.

Last but not least were Chris & Jenna, they got a bit of a flogging with the judges comments who said that the room lacked soul and had no mood at all... They did love the dining table though which I agree is a stunner.  I thought they did a great job with their room, I loved the teal and grey colour palette mixed with the timber used in the room, I cant really see where the judges were coming from, but each to their own I guess!
